Reading and Leeds Festivals - Tickets on sale this evening
News

Voted Best Live Event at this year's NME Awards, The Reading & Leeds Festivals are returning once again for 2008. This year’s festivals will take place over the August bank holiday weekend on Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th at their usual venues – Reading’s Richfield Avenue and Leeds’ Bramham Park.
Also known as the Carling Weekend, the festivals are renowned for their line-ups which they share - this year is no exception. The company behind the festivals has claimed that this summer's event will trump rival festivals like Glastonbury.
One of the definite acts confirmed is The Killers. The band from Las Vegas are set to play Saturday 23rd in Reading and Sunday 24th in Leeds. So far the band have released two commercially successful studio albums, 2004’s ‘Hot Fuss’ and 2006’s ‘Sam’s Town’ and one compilation titled ‘Sawdust’, which was released last November. They are currently working on their third studio album, which will be released later this year or early 2009.
Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Babyshambles, Kasabian, My Chemical Romance, The Verve, Biffy Clyro, Taking Back Sunday, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Anti Flag and The Wombats are some of the rumours for this year’s festivals.
Tickets for both festivals go on sale today, Monday 31st March from 7pm. Prices are as follows: weekend ticket with camping £155, early entry £10, day ticket £65, locker £15, and campervan £10. The full lineup will also be released at 7PM…. Watch this space.
