Queen + Paul Rodgers announce tour and new album
News

Once again the legendary rock band Queen and the singer/ songwriter Paul Rodgers are heading back on the road for a four-month long tour. The 28 date tour has now been confirmed and will take place in 14 countries covering Northern Eurasia, Central and Southern Europe, and the UK. The 6-date UK leg of the tour will take place in October starting from 10th at Nottingham Arena then calling at Glasgow's SECC on 11th, London's 02 on 13th, Cardiff Arena on 14th, Birmingham NIA on 16th and finally ending on 18th at Liverpool Arena.
The tour will coincide with the release of their first studio album to carry the ‘Queen’ name since the Freddie Mercury sessions. The last studio album released by Queen was ‘Made In Heaven’ containing the last recording with Freddie, released back in 1995. It became the band’s biggest selling studio album of all time.
The new album has been jointly written and produced by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers, and is due for release on 1st September, two weeks prior to the start of the tour. The title of this long awaited album is yet to be disclosed. One of the tracks will include ‘Say It’s Not True’, previously released last year by Queen & Paul Rodgers as a special World Aids Day, while the remaining tracks are all newly written.
Paul Rodgers, ex-front man of three successful bands Free, Bad Company, and The Firm, joined Queen for their spectacular 2005/2006 world tour, and has since been featured with the band as Queen & Paul Rodgers, but not to replace the late Freddie. Rodgers has also had success in his own right as a solo artist, writing and producing some of radio’s biggest hits.
Between them, Queen and Paul Rodgers have released more than 50 albums during their long careers and sold in excess of a staggering 300 million records.
Tickets for the UK tour will go on sale from Saturday 5th April at 9am.
