Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit - new single Leftovers now available

News

Country/ folk/ blues band Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit have this week released their latest single ‘Leftovers’ through Vertigo Records, following the success of 2007’s three acclaimed singles, ‘The Ballad Of Tom and Sue’, 'Ode To a Mare Trod Ditch' and ‘The Box’. The single is available on limited edition, signed 7" vinyl with a brand new track 'Dusty Fingers' as well as being available for download.

Londoner Johnny Flynn's music combines diverse influences from the likes of The Pixies, Vaughn Williams and anti-folk pioneer Dianne Cluck.

Johnny and his band (The Sussex Wit) had a busy 2007, apart from releasing the three singles they performed at various summer festivals, supported Jack Penate and Iron & Wine on their UK tour, and also recorded his own debut album titled ‘A Larum’ with producer Ryan Hadlock (The Gossip, The Strokes, Regina Spektor).

If 2007 was anything to go by then 2008 is certain to follow suit, so far he has just finished touring with the Reading-based folk singer Laura Marling. His debut album ‘A Larum’ is also due out this year on 19th May.

Currently touring in Texas, Johnny and his band will be back touring the UK from 28th March.
