Eric Burdon and WAR reunite for one-off Royal Albert Hall date

News

Fantastic news for Eric Burdon and War fans: they will be re-united for the first time in 37 years - since they disbanded in 1971. The band will be performing at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall on Monday 21st April 2008 for one very special night of electrifying R&B, funk, Latin and jazz.

The Animals' ex-front man, Eric Burdon is considered to be one of the greatest English blues singers and his contribution to music is immense. By joining forces again with the 70's popular funk group WAR, makes this one-time-only concert an event you cannot miss.

Eric Burdon and WAR rode the fine line between brilliance and excess during their time together, performing & recording with a sense of risk, imagination, and adventure. Their 1970 album 'Eric Burdon Declares WAR' included two No. 1 worldwide hits - 'Spill The Wine' and 'Tobacco Road'. The second album, 'The Black-Man's Burdon' featured the hits 'They Can't Take Away Our Music' and a cover of the Rolling Stones' 'Paint It Black'.

The reunion concert will coincide with a massive reissue campaign, which will see the release of all Eric Burdon and War's influential albums. The campaign will kick start with the release of their first two1970's albums 'Eric Burdon Declares WAR' and 'The Black-Man's Burdon' on Monday 24th March, followed by 1976 compilation album 'Love Is All Around' on Monday 31st March. All of War's subsequent studio albums will follow through the month of April. Their final release will be on 14th April with 'The Best of Eric Burdon & WAR' and 'The WAR Anthology'.

Tickets for this concert will go on sale this Thursday February 14th at 9.00am.
