The Knockengorroch’s World Ceilidh festival is back for another year – it’s 20th anniversary. This year’s event will take place in the peaceful and stunning glen at Knockengorroch Farm in Dumfries and Galloway for four days from 22nd-25th May.

This annual family-friendly festival will see performances from Peatbog Faeries, Dreadzone, Banco de Gaia, Soothsayers, LoJo, Luisito Quintero, Zion Train, Orkestra del Sol, Shlomo, 3 Daft Monkeys, Tarantism, Mystery Juice, Molara, Talking Drum feat Kuda Matimba (Bhundu Boys), Sheelanagig, Tradbandits, Mungos Hi Fi Sound System and Phil Kay. Scottish giants Capercaillie will also be joining the World Ceilidh for the first time, and more acts are to be announced.

In addition to the musical lineup, a variety of workshops, dance performances and children activities present plenty of opportunities for visitors to get involved in learning new skills and about the cultural heritage of this once densely populated valley.

The sister festival ‘Hairth’ will take place later on in September, starting on 19th and ending on 21st. This three day event will also be at the Knockengorroch Farm, just like the ‘World Ceilidh’, but smaller and more intimate. The lineup will reflect the diverse cross-over style that Knockengorroch Festivals have become renowned for.

Tickets for both festivals are now on sale. Combined World Ceilidh and The Hairth ticket are also available from £132. Children under 11’s are free!

Please note that tickets for the 'Hairth' festival are restricted in number and are only available in advance.
