Liverpool has recently been voted ‘European Capital of Culture’ for 2008 and to celebrate its achievement the city is holding lots of events.
Two singles have been released in conjunction with the event, one by up and coming Liverpudlian band, The Wombats entitled ‘Moving to New York’ and the other by musical legends Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart which is entitled ‘Liverpool 8’. both are available now.
The events and celebrations will go on throughout the year and highlights include the Liverpool Comedy Festival which will begin on 28th May and run until 8th June and will feature comic plays and stand-ups, Southport Flower Show, now in its 79th year, which will begin on 21st August and run for a week and Liverpool Song Book which is taking place all through the year and includes pieces from Liverpool Philharmonic.
