Brits 2008 - Nominees and new album announced

Nominations for this years Brit Awards were announced last night with Leona, Mika and Take That coming out on top.
The awards, which have been going since 1977 and are held at Earls Court, London, include 12 categories such as British Male and Female Solo Artist and Best British Group.
Leona Lewis gained four nominations, including Best British Female Solo Artist and has confirmed she will be performing on the night.
The Brits has been subject to much scandal in its 31 years, most famously when Jarvis Cocker invaded the stage during Michael Jackson’s performance of the ‘Earth Song’ and waved his clothed bottom in Jackson’s direction.
This year the Brits will be held on 20th February and the Brits album, including over forty songs by the likes of Kylie, Justin Timberlake, Mika, Mark Ronson, Scouting for Girls and Robyn will be released on February 11th.
