Believe-it-or-not, in this ever-expensive society we live in, where there's -allegedly - no such thing as a free lunch, we bring you: a free/ inexpensive lunch [ermm.. this isn't pret-a-manger dot com - Ed].
We have added new shortcuts to the site to enable you to list events costing less than £10.00, £5.00 and even free events*.
These links exist on the homepage - in the sidebar - top-right, and under the "Gigs" section - also in the sidebar (click on Gigs, above)... or you could just go and click the "Gigs Under a Tenner", "Gigs Under a Fiver" or "Free Gigs!!" links in the sidebar to the right of this article.
Additionally, where the less frugal-minded amongst you [there's now't wrong with cheap stuff, unless your name is Mr Ratner - Ed] may be tempted by the "under a tenner" etc labels added to the standard listings.
Once you have clicked on the shortcut, you will be presented with a list of events, which you can refine further by entering your town/ region or even your preferred genre.
So, what does a tenner get you, musically these days, then?

Good point, well made. 99.9% of the events listed as "under a tenner" etc, have a booking fee of £1.00 or less, so fill your boots.
