In-keeping with tradition, this year’s Nationwide Mercury music award winners were the ones everyone had taken their eyes off of – with the betting money going on one of: Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse or Jamie T to scoop the award.

That was not to be, though, with the London-based new rave band scooping the award for their debut album Myths of the Near Future released earlier this year. The album had already garnered accolades from NME and their first two limited edition singles had generated a lot of excitement. Catch the guys in action live this winter.

The show also feature Amy Winehouse’s first liver performance since she left rehab – a performance which seemed to have won over the critics on the night.

You can sample the songs which captureed the Nationwide Mercury Music panel's imagination on the Nationwide Mercury Music Prize 2007 album - currently available on Amazon for just £3.99 - check the link to the right.
