The work of legendary UK producer - and one of the many "Fifth Beatles" - Sir George Martin along with producer son Giles Martin was put into effect in Las Vegas on Friday, when the first ever Beatles-approved live show "Love" took to stage.

The Cirque du Soleil show is a collaboration between Circque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte and the two UK producers who used digital workstations to remix a number of Beatles songs for the show, mixing elements of different tracks to create - in effect - new ones. It's all a far cry from Sir George Martin's expermental Beatle meddlings of the 60s which involved four-track tape and razor blades to create real "loops" - even though it has arguably taken them longer this time around with two years needed to complete the project.

Friday's premiere was watched by surviving Beatles Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr along with widows of John Lennon and George Harrison, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison.

"Love" is playing at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada - with tickets being available up until the end of the year.

The next project for the Martins is to create the soundtrack album.
