This year's Diesel-U-Music UK award winners have been announced, being picked from over 1,000 songs submitted. The UK nominees will now go head-to-head with the international finalists in order to choose the overall winner. The awards are broken down into three categories: Urban/Hip Hop, Electronic and Indie/Rock.

Here are the UK finalists:

Urban/Hip Hop: Stefan ∓ The Artschool (London)
Electronic: Get Shakes (Isle of Wight)
Indie/Rock: The Steers (Cardiff)

After slimming the entrants down to nine bands, each played a night in venues across London, and they were judged by industry names from PIAS/Wall Of Sound, Clash, Fierce Panda, Dazed & Confused', XFM, Hip-Hop Connection and All City Music.
