Simply Red lead singer Mick Hucknall has become a dad at the age of 47 after the birth of daughter Romy True, born at London's Portland Hospital on Monday.
Mum Gabriella Wesberry and Mick were romantically involved in the 90s, but split in 1995. They reunited in 2003 and Mick - obviously comfortable in the relationship - declared last year that he wanted children.
An announcement on band website www.simplyred.com states:
Mother and baby are doing fine and Mick is on cloud nine!
...which rhymes, coincidentally.... the makings of a new song? ;-)
