Legendary guitar maker Gibson – makers of the de facto "Les Paul" - celebrate all things Rock 'n' Roll at the end of the month, with the launch of Gibson Guitartown London.

The charity-inspired event will be launched at the Living Room in London on Thursday 28th June 2007 and has the backing of Slash, Noel Gallagher, Brian May, Ronnie Wood, James Blunt, Razorlight, Rod Stewart, Paul Weller, The Kooks and Corinne Bailey Rae.

A veritable who's who of luminaries from the UK music scene has already pledged their support and involvement with Gibson Guitartown London's summer spectacular. Legendary artists long associated with the electric guitar including Gary Moore, Motorhead, Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant, Mark Knopfler and Ozzy Osbourne, plus a stellar cast of the guitar heroes of tomorrow including Hard-Fi, Dirty Pretty Things, KT Tunstall, The Magic Numbers and Kaiser Chiefs have all stepped up to the mark to raise money for the three chosen charities: The Princes Trust, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and Teenage Cancer Trust.

The event will run for ten weeks in the area surrounding More London (South Bank, by City Hall) and will include thirty 10-foot free standing fibreglass Gibson Les Paul guitars creatively designed and hand painted by visual artists ranging from established artists such as Sir Peter Blake, Gerald Scarfe and Andrew Logan as well as competition winners. Additionally thirty regular sized Gibson hand-painted Gibson SG's (the guitar immortalised by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young) will be on display at The O2 in Greenwich, only a short tube or boat ride from the More London display.
