Brighton-based Brian Wilson/ Beach Boys tribute act The Brighton Beach Boys will recreate two classic albums - Pet Sounds and Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band -in their entirety as part of this year's Brighton festival.

The band was formed six years ago by actor Ralph Brown (Withnail And I) and Brighton musician Steve Wrigley with the original intention of having fun recreating the music of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. An acapella exercise at first, it is now a ten piece labour of love featuring french horn, sax, flute, accordion, percussion, vibes and seven vocalists.

The band will be joined by a string quartet, playing alongside their horn section to fully recreate the diverse musical arrangements of both albums. They play at St George's Church in Kemp Town on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May. Doors open at 7:30PM and tickets cost £15.00 (or £12.00 concessions) - available from the church or The Brighton Dome box office (01273 709709). There will also be a bar on the two nights (by donation).

A listen to their myspace site (www.myspace.com/thebrightonbeachboys) will explain why they sold out at last year's festival.

The Brighton Festival is on it 41st year (as is Pet Sounds) and features a number of music, dance, theatre and opera performances from now until Sunday 27th May.
