JAGZ Club, Ascot, is restarting Sunday lunchtime jazz this Sunday, October 1st with a star band featuring a living legend in Danny Moss. Danny Moss has done just about everything that can be done in the jazz world. He was star soloist with the Big Bands of both Ted Heath and John Dankworth - he often guested with the fabulous Chicago style band of Alex Welsh and a two-year stint with the Humphrey Lyttleton band followed. After that he started to tour with his own band often in the company of his wife vocalist Jeannie Lamb. As well as in the UK, he rapidly became a festival regular throughout Europe, USA, Canada and the Far East and after his third visit to Oz, he decided to make it his home, he now lives in Perth. He is visiting the UK for a short tour starting at JAGZ Club. He is joined on this gig by his wife, Jeannie Lamb, and his son Danny jnr. on bass. The band is completed by John Critchinson on piano and Terry Jenkins on drums.
Sunday lunch jazz at JAGZ is now internationally famous with top stars from the UK and USA scene. Future gigs include Derek Nash, Alan Barnes, Allan Ganley, Campbell Burnap, and Tina May, with Daryl Sherman and Benn Clatworthy from the USA. The musicians come with a top line rythym section of the best on the UK scene including Martin Drew, Dave Green, Alec Dankworth, Clark Tracey and Andy Cleyndert. Entrance is £6, £5 members, or a special of £12 including roast lunch. Doors open at 12.30 pm, with the bands playing two sets from 1pm to 3.30pm.
