V Festival to go global

Today Richard Branson announced that the Virgin-backed V Festival is going to be staged all over the World, with likely countries being Italy, Spain and South America.

This year, the "Virgin Festival" is also being held in America and Canada for the first time, and will feature The Who and Red Hot Chili Peppers as headline acts as well as Muse, Gnarls Barkley, The Strokes, The Raconteurs and (all going well for Tom) Keane.

Speaking to Reuters, Branson said that this way bands will be able to gig throughout the year all over the World - in the changin music market where music sales may no longer be the strongest income.
