In the wake of Top of the Pops being axed by the Beeb, a Manchester-based media company has announced that it is to revive cult show 'The Tube' on the ermm... radio - internet radio, that is.

The TV show which made a star of Paula Yates and boosted Jools Holland's TV persona, ran for five years on Channel 4 during 1982 and 1987, but was famously dropped after Jools Holland swore live on air.

UK One FM will host the new show from secret locations in Manchester, which will feature up-and-coming music acts as well as established acts.

The show will be "broadcast" by internet radio station Channel 4 Radio.
