Only a few weeks left for you to enjoy 'The Sound of Music' in London!

The musical, written by song-writing duo Rodgers and Hammerstein, and based on the book 'The Story of the Trapp Family Singers', tells the pre-World War II tribulations of Austrian nun-turned-governess Maria Rainer. First staged in 1959, 'The Sound of Music' was successfully adapted on screen in the eponymous 1965 classic. Since then, it has undergone many stage adaptations worldwide, including Andrew Lloyd Webber's in London, which opened in November 2006 and has just announced its final performance for February 28th 2009 at the London Palladium, thus making way for yet another classic, in 'Sister Act- The Musical', due to premiere in the West End on May 7th.

If you haven't yet had the time to see/ hear 'The Sound of Music', despair not, as the producers have just announced a UK tour of the musical, due to begin on July 26th 2009. The tour will see the return of singer Connie Fisher, who won her place in the West End show via the BBC show 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?' in 2006, appearing in the West End show between 2007 and 2008.

Until then, London tickets, which range from £24.00 to £53.50, are still available.
